Hi Irina. A year or so ago I could tell you all the reasons why meat and cooked food are unhealthy. Today, I would tell you that not all meat is equal, cooking vegetables makes them more digestible and it minimizes the natural toxins in plants. I found out that I have a slow oxidizing metabolism and that I wasn't digesting carbs well. I ate a lot of fruit. Most of the produce contained goitrogens (iodine blockers) and I began to have lots of hypothyroid symptoms. I had hypothyroid long before I was diagnosed with MS but I didn't connect the dots to realize that I had it. It got worse eating an exclusively raw diet. While this diet may work for some people, it stopped working for me. I'm doing much better eating broth made from pastured beef bones and free range chicken (including the feet!). I also cook all of my veggies except lettuce. I eat a few salads. I rarely eat fruit anymore. I think I was more mineral deficient than vitamin deficient. I added minerals, including iodine, and I'm feeling good!

Thanks for checking on me, Allison

I enjoy food in any way that it causes me to improve. I still see food as medicine regardless of how it is prepared. There are no rules about eating a few cooked veggie meal with butter on Monday, a salad with nut cream dressing on Tuesday, corn tortilla enchiladas stuffed with cooked spinach and beets (seasoned with Italian herbs, seasalt and a squirt of agave nectar) and feta cheese on Wednesday. I might eat free-range eggs for breakfast or a cooked cereal made from ground brown rice. As you can see, I mix raw and cooked food in my diet. I eat a variety of proteins without eating red meat. My issues go beyond those in which I hope you experience. I still see improvement along the way by eating what my body needs at the time. The diet may change but the principle remains the same. Hi Irina. I left almost all of my health groups. The raw food groups began to sound like we should all eat raw but after doing that for over 4 years and developing hypothyroid-like symptoms, I decided to see if another dietary lifestyle would work better for me. I left MScured because I thought the group would benefit from a new approach. I still operate Green Group, not so much for the data that we submit but for the friendships that our members have created. I like this group for both.
